Office 365 Subscription
- includes Office on Demand (OoD), stream full-featured version to host PC
- subscription fee is per-user
- some plans require annual commitment, others are month-by-month
- some plans permits offline install on up to 5 devices per user
  - Microsoft officially refers to it as "desktop install"
  - will continue to work for a certain period, after disconnection from Internet
  - offline installed apps will stop working after subscription expires
- 99.9% up-time guarantee
- Pitfalls
  - offline install runs on w7/w8 only, no XP/Vista
  - OoD host w7/w8 only, with IE9+, FF12+, Safari5, Ch18+
  - Office 365 Home Premium, no commercial use
  - Google drops Sync support for personal users, CalDAV/CardDAV only, which 2013 lacks
Office Online (formerly Office Web App 2009) TIME 2014 Google Docs 2006
- available
  - free via OneDrive.com, Outlook.com (hotmail) and now Office.com
  - for licensing to corporate private cloud
  - via public cloud, included in Office 365 subscription
- supersedes
  - Microsoft Office Live

  - no Outlook!

- simplified & touch-optimized edition of Office 2013 Home & Student
- only available as standard bundle in Microsoft Surface RT and other Windows RT devices
- Outlook added since RT 8.1 (free upgrade)
