This is my analysis of software licensing costs
over a period of time, for a number of seats.
On average, most people use the same version of a major
software package for 7 years, if "purchased" as a traditional perpetual
license, instead of a monthly/annual subscription. When comparing costs
between these licensing models, use a range of 3 to 12 years as
reference.
